Reese Witherspoon Releases Children’s Book ‘Busy Betty,’ Explains Inspiration Behind the Story

Reese Witherspoon is spotted leaving Good Morning America on Monday (October 3) in New York City. The 46-year-old actor is celebrating the release of her children's book, "Busy Betty," a story about a creative, curious, and exuberant young girl who has big plans and an even bigger heart. Reese chatted with GMA about the inspiration behind the book and why she chose to name the character after her mother. “Since the moment I had a daughter of my own, I have been searching for characters whose self-expression is front and center and holistically portrays the experience of being a young girl,” Reese said. “'Busy Betty' was born out of my own upbringing. I was always singing, dancing, and exploring. I hope Betty’s curiosity, enthusiasm and sense of adventure teaches our girls that not only can they do anything they set their minds to, but also by applying creativity, focus and teamwork to their ideas, anything is possible,” the Academy award-winning actress said. Reese has recently been spending time with Jennifer Aniston late night on set of the upcoming third season of The Morning Show.
