Cristiano Ronaldo Says Manchester United ‘Betrayed’ Him in Bombshell Interview

Cristiano Ronaldo says he was "betrayed" by the way Manchester United has treated him in his return this season and feels more than one person is trying to force him out. The 37-year-old soccer player was asked by Piers Morgan if the club was trying to force him out. Cristiano said, “Yes, not only the coach, but another two or three guys around the club. I felt betrayed.” Manchester United released a statement on the interview and said, "The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established. Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans." Cristiano chose to return to Manchester United during the 2021-22 season after departing the club for Real Madrid in 2009. Cristiano told Piers that the club has not improved and is not making any progress. "The progress was zero," he said. "Since Sir Alex left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed." Last month Cristiano was suspended when he refused to come off the bench as a late substitute in a match against Tottenham and went back to the locker room instead. "If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you," Ronaldo said of his manager Erik Ten Hag. Earlier this year Cristiano and longtime girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez announced their baby girl’s name!
