Elon Musk Announces His Replacement as CEO of Twitter
Twitter has a new CEO.
After Twitter users voted for Elon Musk to step down as CEO of the social media site back in December 2022, the 51-year-old billionaire announced on Thursday (May 11) that he was officially stepping down and that he had found a woman that would be replacing him.
On Friday (May 12), Elon announced Twitter’s new CEO.
Linda Yaccarino, who just her role as chairman of global advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal, has been named Twitter’s new CEO.
“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter! @LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology,” Elon tweeted. “Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app.”
Even though he’s stepping down as CEO, Elon will continue to have a role at Twitter.
Linda will officially begin her job as the new CEO in six weeks.
