Kevin Bacon, 64, and daughter Sosie, 30, show off chemistry and comedy chops as they star together in new Hyundai commercial
Kevin Bacon and his daughter Sosie Bacon are starring in a new commercial for Hyundai's new all-electric IONIQ 6. It kicks off with the Footloose star pulling up to a suburban home, just as Sosie steps out of the front door to come join him. 'There it is. My dad went EV,' Sosie says near the top of the advert. 'It's electric don't be shocked, Kevin quickly shoots back from behind his daughter while standing on a driveway. In the commercial, Sosie, who dressed in a green jumpsuit with a blue jean jacket, jokes about her dad not being technologically savvy. 'The guy who is eternally locked out of his email is going EV,' she announces with a tone of sarcasm. 'Oooh, nice car,' Sosie says moments after the pair got situated in the car, with Kevin sitting in the driver's seat. 'Actually, it's an EV, which rhymes with Kev, the longtime leading man jokes with a big beaming smile on his face, as his daughter flashes an annoyed look on her face. After pulling into a charging station, Kevin continues with another tame joke by declaring, 'EV VIP parking.' Just as they both get back out of the car, the Smile actress directs her attention to a couple of questions posed by critics and potential buyers. 'I get it. you don't think they charge fast enough or go far enough,' Sosie says before her father takes a turn putting those debates to rest. 'Updated percent charge in 18 minutes. Range, heck, we could go to Mexico,' he announces. The father-daughter duo then make their way to a coffee shoppe, where Sosie reveals, 'EVs aren't going to start being a thing. Look at the IONIQ 6.' A cafe worker then yells out: 'Matcha mushroom frap for Kevin?' he yells out from behind the counter. In response, Sosie turns around to find her father on the other side of a window getting animated during a conversation: 'So just make the leap already,' she says, while looking straight towards the camera. Back in the car together, Kevin tries to show off his tech savvy by 'Okay, watch this. Blue or red,' the A Few Good Men star says to Sosie, while using his right hand to work the car monitor on the dashboard. 'Blue light. Red light. I can also make it play nature sounds if you want ?' Kevin says at the end of the advert to Sosie, who shows a hesitant grin and responds, 'Let's just drive.'
