LeBron James Celebrates His All-Time Scoring Record with Family By His Side

LeBron James is marking his incredible accomplishment! The 38-year-old basketball star had his family by his side to celebrate his new NBA record on Thursday (February 9) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Earlier in the week, LeBron surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar‘s record as the all-time leading scorer in the NBA. In the third quarter of the game, LeBron scored a three-pointer, passing Kareem‘s career total of 38,387 points. LeBron reached 38,388 career points at that point and his count will continue to grow. Before his game on Thursday, LeBron was honored alongside his wife Savannah, his sons Bronny and Bryce, his daughter Zhuri, and his mother Gloria. He called the group his “starting five.” “I had dreams every day of playing in the NBA,” James said. “I had dreams every day of being an inspiration to so many people. I had dreams of being able one day to throw no-look passes like Magic Johnson. To be able to shoot fadeaways like Michael Jordan. To be able to have a crossover like Allen Iverson. To be able to have an afro and jump in the dunk contest like Kobe Bryant. I looked up to so many athletes and so many people along my journey and they gave me the inspiration and they allowed my dreams to not die.”
