Niall Horan Reveals If He'd Want Himself as a Part of His Team on 'The Voice,' Talks Rejecting Contestants

Niall Horan opened up about the hardest part of being a judge on The Voice – rejecting potential contestants. Of course, it’s personal for him. The 29-year-old “Heaven” crooner got his start on X Factor, where he was put into the group that became One Direction after his audition. Because of his experience, he shared that it’s difficult for him to turn people down now during a recent interview. During the conversation, Niall also revealed if he would want himself on his team. While appearing on Hot Ones, Niall definitively said that he “wouldn’t have turned” his chair around for the Niall Horan who auditioned for X Factor in 2010. “It was right place, right time,” he said, but, “I’d turn for me now. I’ve learned a lot. I’ve been around the block a couple of times which is a lot that can be said for someone who’s 29. But yeah, I’d turn now. I wouldn’t have turned then.” “I know what it’s like to be 16 and stood on a stage. I’m looking at some famous dude that’s got your future in his hands,” he shared about the audition process on The Voice. “The easy part is pressing the red button, spinning the chair, and saying how you like someone. But when the chair turns around and you’re not with them, how do you give them that rejection feedback?” The hitmaker previously credited another pop star for saving his career when he did audition. If you missed it, Niall used his time in One Direction to his advantage to nab a competitor for his team on the competition show. Speaking of, two other members of the band had a mini reunion this week! Press play on Niall Horan’s episode of Hot Ones below…
